A leading U.S. law firm is seeking an experienced Research Analyst to join its Research & Knowledge Management team. This remote role is open to candidates in California, Arizona, or Colorado, with the firm’s offices in Phoenix, San Diego, and Denver. The schedule is 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time, and the role reports to the Director of Research & Knowledge Management.
The Research Analyst will independently handle legal and business research of varying complexity for attorneys and business professionals. The work includes clarifying requests, choosing the right approach and delivering clear, concise summaries of the findings. The role uses AI-enabled research tools, including writing effective prompts and checking AI output against authoritative sources. The analyst will also advise on and train attorneys in research resources and help evaluate new products. Other duties include tracking requests and billable time, contributing to department communications and finding ways to improve processes.
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree plus an MLIS from an ALA-accredited program and/or a JD, and at least four years of law firm research services experience. They should be proficient in Westlaw Precision, Lexis+, Bloomberg Law, Practical Law, CourtLink, D&B Hoovers and S&P Capital IQ, and have experience with case law, dockets, expert witness materials and verdicts and settlements. The salary range is $89,000$112,000 in San Diego and $81,000$100,000 in Denver, plus a bonus and comprehensive benefits.
